New Turf Lawn Outside of Fireside Room

The lawn outside of the Fireside Room is a well-used space by both the church and Ventana, and it has been increasingly showing wear and tear making it largely unusable. A Ventana parent offered to donate the cost of replacing that lawn with turf, a very generous gift that was welcomed by both the school and church. The new turf was installed this week and is a more multi-use turf than what is now the lower lawn. Next week six picnic tables and benches will be placed on the lawn to accommodate use during the school’s lunch hours, church coffee hours and other similar events. They are portable and can be moved aside for occasions requiring use of the full lawn area (for example, the church’s animal blessing event). The turf was tested out at Wednesday’s community dinner by few children and Rev. Cal who gave it rave reviews!
