Twelfth Night Thank Yous
A big Thank You to the many people who contributed to our festive 12th Night Celebration and Candlelight Service—the Feast of Lights. It was wonderful to include parishioners from St. Timothy’s in the festivities. Thanks to: David Marsh for arranging for a pianist, who played the piano for carol singing during the party and played the organ for the service. The terrific set-up crew: Carol Codding, Deanne Phillips, Diana Higuera, and Pedro Hernandez, assisted by Patti and Ed White. Madeline Gernaat, assisted by Patrick Sanders, for making and serving the delicious wassail. The Herod Play: Liesl Calado for being the Mistress of the Hall, Reverend Cal Payne-Taylor, Oliver Chang and Paul Ingraham for being the Three Kings, Ryan Taheri for being the Angel, and Bob Stanfield for playing the villainous King Herod. Choir members for singing the Boar’s Head Carol to entertain the King and Queen. Alice Davis for playing Greensleeves on her flute to entertain the King and Queen. Ryan Taheri for being the King and Madeline Gernaat for being the Queen. The families who come to Wednesday night community dinners for baking the cupcakes to find the King and Queen. Jenny Bishop for organizing children’s activities. The great clean-up crew: Lee Codding, Patrick Sanders, Carol Codding, Carol Tanner, and Patti and Ed White. Carol Codding for taking the tablecloths to be laundered. The Altar Guild (Carol Codding) for having the altar ready for the Festival of Lights service, and Rev. Claire and Rev. Nikki Wood from St. Timothy’s for conducting the service. Everyone who brought food; what a feast it was!
Patti White, 12th Night Coordinator
We want to add our deep gratitude to Patti White, who after coordinating these festivities for many, many years, made this year her last event. As was shared in the proclamation presented to Patti on Monday night:
Therefore we do proclaim,
With gratitude most deep and affection most true,
Our thanks and blessing upon Patti White,
Director of revels, keeper of traditions,
And beloved steward of our Twelfth Night joy.
Long may her memory be cherished,
Long may her laughter echo among these walls,
And long may the spirit she has kindled
Continue to shine in this place.
God save the Queen of Twelfth Night revels!
Let us now give her hearty thanks well-deserved, crying:
Hip Hip Hooray!
Hip Hip Hooray!
Hip Hip Hooray!
