Weekly Prayers of the People
Have you ever wondered where the intercessions in the Sunday service Prayers of the People come from? That is a great question! Some of these prayers are set, such as for which Anglican church or diocesan entity we pray, or the names listed in the columbarium section, which reflect those with death anniversaries in the upcoming week. Others - including the prayers of thanksgiving, for those who suffer in body, mind or spirit, and for those who have entered eternal life - are most often requests that have come from you, the members of the parish. We keep names in these sections for 2-3 weeks, unless the submitter has requested a shorter or longer period of time. Many of the general prayers - such as for those incarcerated, victims of gun violence, healing for our nation, and for those whose lives are touched by war - were added as longer term requests. We welcome your prayers at any time, either as names to add to existing sections, or as a new intercession you would like us to consider including moving forward. You can reach out to Deanne, Claire and/or Cal with any prayer requests.
