Bringing Winter Warmth to our Neighbors

Thank you to everyone who has already donated items to our warm winter clothing drive! As you can see from the photo, our bin was overflowing many times over with donations. In partnership with the Cardea Center for Women, Christ Church will continue to collect warm winter clothing through December 15th to help our neighbors in need. The Cardea Center for Women works as a community of individuals and organizations – connecting, linking and advancing the interests of women. The Center is seeking all kinds of new or gently used clothing items (men’s and women’s) for adults living on the streets, including: coats, jackets, sweaters, socks, gloves, scarves, thermal wear, rain gear, durable shoes, daypacks, hand warmers, and blankets. Infant and toddler diapers, as well as adult overnight briefs, are also greatly appreciated. The Cardea Center is not collecting children's clothing at this time. All items for donation can be brought to the “Cardea Center” donation bin in the Parish Hall Lobby.

The Center also has an Amazon wish list for new items which can be found here. Items can be shipped to “Sally J Lieber's Gift Registry Address,” or to Cardea Center, 456 Sierra Ave., Mountain View, CA 94041.

As we enter the season of giving, all are invited to help our unsheltered neighbors stay warm this winter. Please be in touch with Rev. Cal (cal@ccla.us) or Dennis Hawkins with any questions.
