A Twelfth Night Celebration

The liturgical season of Christmas begins on December 25th and lasts for 12 days of celebration. The 12th Day of Christmas is January 5, which is also the eve of Epiphany. It is an old English tradition to celebrate the 12th Night of Christmas with feasting and parties, including choosing a King and Queen to rule over the festivities. This is a tradition we have embraced and followed for many years at Christ Church. Please join us on Friday, January 5, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and bring your children and grandchildren to celebrate 12th Night. Bring a hearty appetizer or a dessert to share. We will drink wassail, sing carols, and reprise our medieval Herod Play. There will be art activities for children while we gather and a special invitation for the youngest members of our community to take part in the procession with the kings as we follow the Magi into the church for a short candlelight service.  Don’t miss this special evening!

There will be no remote option to join the festivities in the Parish Hall, but the short candlelight service in the church will be available via Zoom (see below).
