“Repent" is the first word of Jesus' public ministry: But what does it mean to repent, to turn in a new direction, to change our minds? If our previous actions have caused harm, how do we seek to make restitution, reparations, and move toward repair? This year's Lenten Study explores these concepts in conversation with Rabbi Danya Rutternburg's brilliant book, On Repentance and Repair: Making Amends in an Unapologetic World. Mark your calendar for our final session on Wednesday, March 29th, from 5:45-7:00 p.m. We'll gather in the Parish Hall for a potluck dinner and some guided discussion, with a remote option available for those who wish (or need) to eat and participate from home. If you aren't able to commit to reading the book, please still come! The conversations will touch on topics and themes that relate to all our lives. Childcare will be available from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Here is how we will break out the book’s topics:
March 29: Social Justice; Forgiveness and Atonement (Chapters 6-8)
