This Sunday at both services we will mark the coming of the Holy Spirit upon Jesus’ disciples and celebrate the birthday of the Church with the Feast of Pentecost. In most Churches, clergy wear red vestments on Pentecost to signify the work of the Spirit. It eventually became customary in many parishes, including ours, for the congregation to wear red as well. All are invited to wear red to remind us of the fire of the spirit.
Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we disciples are made ready to share the Good News of Christ with all people, in every language and place. Because that Good News is centered on the peace of Christ, we will honor it with a multilingual exchange of the Peace during our services on Sunday. If you would like to translate the phrase "The peace of the Lord be always with you" into another language and pronounce the Peace with Rev. Cal at either service, you are welcome to do so! Please let Cal (cal@ccla.us) know if you are interested in adding your voice to the Peace in another language this Sunday!
