Commemorating the life of the Rt. Rev. Barbara Harris

Virtual Evensong commemorating the life of the Rt. Rev. Barbara Harris

A year ago, on March 13th, the Episcopal Church lost one of our greatest treasures, The Rt. Rev. Barbara Clementine Harris, who was the first woman bishop ever ordained in the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion.  She was a prophetic voice in advocating for civil rights, voting rights, calling out racism, and supporting women’s ministries.  She was--and continues to be--an inspiring role model to many in our Church.

This virtual Evensong celebrates Harris’ groundbreaking ministry and her ties to the Diocese of California. She last was with us at our 2017 Diocesan Convention. It’s being offered as a joint effort of three Diocesan groups: General Convention Deputation, African Anglican Commission, and Union of Black Episcopalians (Vivian Traylor Chapter).
